He has many superpowers...He can eat the inedible...he can invent new cuss words like iceman making ice underfoot...but my favorite superpower of his is the ability to make someone in a faraway place have a shift in consciousness.    After being stood up for a meeting I was supposed to have, I wandered home feeling somewhat banal and disappointed by people in general. Today was one of those reminders that some people just don't take things seriously...or at least as seriously as I do. I know...I am wrong, but it seems that way sometimes. I'm sure I was just stood up because the BART was running late, or some other thing. Anyway, I come home and at the top of the stairs are three packages that I had delivered today. Two I recognized as most likely being the manga and research books ordered off Amazon in a late night shopping frenzy, but then there was this strange little box. When I saw who it was from, all of my doubts about humanity disappeared. I posted about UNICO on this journal some two years ago...and low and behold I am surprised by the ultimate non-gift. Before opening it, I imagined his wife Sarah and him getting drunk and playing bingo...ahhhhh Thank you Benjamin...for your superpowers. |
